Les géants du pétrole manifestent un intérêt précoce pour une participation dans un gisement en eau profonde du golfe du Mexique, selon certaines sources

Les grands groupes énergétiques européens TotalEnergies TTEF.PA et Shell SHEL.L font partie des entreprises qui souhaitent prendre une participation majoritaire dans l'un des sites les plus prometteurs du golfe du Mexique, ont déclaré trois sources au fait du processus, alors que l'intérêt pour les perspectives énergétiques en Amérique du Nord augmente en raison du conflit au Proche-Orient.

La société BP, cotée à Londres, est également intéressée, ont déclaré deux de ces personnes et une quatrième, de même que la société espagnole Repsol, selon une cinquième personne. Chevron devrait également envisager une offre, selon deux des personnes interrogées. Deux des propriétaires du champ offshore de Shenandoah ont lancé ces derniers jours un processus de vente de leurs parts, offrant à des acheteurs potentiels 51 % du projet, selon trois des personnes interrogées.
