Umicore plans $1.2 billion battery materials plant in Ontario

Belgium’s Umicore plans to invest C$1.5 billion ($1.2 billion) to build a battery materials manufacturing plant in Canada’s Ontario province that would supply parts to one million electric vehicles by 2030, Ottawa said on Wednesday.


The Canadian government and Umicore have signed a memorandum of understanding for the facility and will start negotiations on a formal agreement that would include federal support for the project, an official statement said.


Umicore, a materials technology and recycling company, said separately that it was in negotiations with several potential customers for production contracts in North America.

Construction of Umicore’s facility, planned to be net-zero on emissions and create hundreds of permanent jobs, is targeted to begin in 2023 with operations planned for the end of 2025, Umicore said.

“Umicore’s intention to establish its new facility in Loyalist Township (in eastern Ontario) is another major step forward as we make Canada a global leader in producing electric vehicles,” Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said in the statement.

Trudeau’s Liberal government has pledged to cut climate-warming emissions 40-45% below 2005 levels by 2030 and reach net-zero by 2050.

The Canadian government sees the auto sector as a key part of its efforts to lower the national carbon footprint. Earlier this year, Canada committed to setting a mandate to ensure that all new light-duty vehicle sales are zero-emission by 2035.

Auto parts are Canada’s fifth-biggest export industry and the auto sector contributes $16 billion annually to Canada’s gross domestic product, based on official data.

Ontario is geographically close to US automakers in Michigan and Ohio, and General Motors Co, Ford Motor Co and Stellantis NV have all announced plans to make electric vehicles at factories in the province.

Les batteries solides permettront demain de baisser significativement l'empreinte carbone de la production des batteries, d'après une étude commandée par l'ONG Transport & Environnement. A condition de respecter des nouvelles normes d'extraction du lithium... Explications.

Les batteries solides sont décidément prometteuses. Alors que les constructeurs automobiles attendent de cette nouvelle génération de batteries une véritable technologie de rupture pour accélérer la bascule vers la voiture électrique, voilà qu'une étude vient également confirmer que cette technologie serait également vertueuse dans son cycle de production.

Le Graal de la mobilité décarbonée

On les appelle solides puisque l'électrolyte qui assure la transmission entre l'anode et la cathode devient solide (en utilisant la céramique) et non plus une solution chimique liquide. Cette technologie doit permettre d'alléger considérablement le poids des batteries, mais aussi leur longévité. Mieux, les constructeurs automobiles promettent qu'elles supporteront des puissances de charge électriques significativement plus puissantes sans dommage. En somme, les batteries solides permettront de gagner en autonomie, en rapidité de charge et en longévité. Le Graal de la mobilité de demain !

Avec l'étude commandée par l'ONG Transport & Environnement (T&E), et conduite par la société Minviro, spécialisée dans l'analyse des cycles de vie des matières premières, on apprend désormais qu'en plus, les batteries solides bénéficient d'un bilan carbone nettement allégé grâce aux matériaux utilisés. L'écart atteint 39% d'émissions de CO2 entre les batteries classiques actuelles et une batterie fabriquée à partir de matériaux durables.

"La technologie solide constituerait un changement radical puisque sa production nécessite beaucoup moins de matériaux, et donc beaucoup moins d'émissions de gaz à effet de serre, grâce à une densité énergétique supérieure", explique Marie Chéron, responsable du pôle véhicule de T&E France, citée dans un communiqué.

Plus de lithium, moins de cobalt

Mais l'ONG précise que pour atteindre un tel score, il est nécessaire que les conditions de fabrication intègrent des matériaux durables sinon l'écart n'est plus que de 24%. "Les nouvelles méthodes d'extraction, notamment celles du lithium à partir de puits géothermiques, ont un impact climatique nettement inférieur à celui des sources plus couramment utilisées, comme le lithium extrait de roches dures en Australie puis raffiné en Chine", peut-on lire dans le communiqué de T&E.

Cette condition est importante car les batteries solides pourraient utiliser jusqu'à un tiers de lithium en plus... Mais nettement moins de graphite ou de cobalt.

T&E demande ainsi à l'Union européenne qui prépare une réglementation sur les batteries de voitures électriques, de légiférer dans le sens d'une empreinte carbone plus vertueuse.

Les constructeurs automobiles espèrent introduire la batterie solide dans la seconde moitié de la décennie... Mais cette technologie fait encore l'objet d'importants efforts de R&D, et personne n'est encore en mesure de confirmer un calendrier précis.

CATL announces giant new 100 GWh battery plant in Hungary

CATL, the world’s largest battery manufacturer, has announced a plan to build a giant new battery plant in Hungary to supply automakers like Mercedes-Benz and BMW.


Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited, abbreviated as CATL, sort of came out of nowhere. It was founded only a decade ago and has quickly become the world’s largest battery cell manufacturer by supplying key companies in the electric revolution.

After Tesla started production in China at Gigafactory Shanghai, CATL became a supplier to Tesla and helped the automaker turn Gigafactory Shanghai into the largest electric vehicle factory in the world. In the last few years, CATL has been expanding outside of China, starting with Europe.

It started with a new battery factory in Germany and now it is expanding with a second one in Europe.

Today, CATL announced a €7.34 billion euros (~$7.4 billion USD) investment into a 100 GWh battery plant in Debrecen of east Hungary:

On August 12, 2022, Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) officially announced it will invest 7.34 billion euros to build a 100 GWh battery plant in Debrecen of east Hungary, which is also its second battery plant in Europe following its German plant. Subject to the shareholder meeting approval, construction of the first production facilities will start within this year.

Dr. Robin Zeng, founder and Chairman of CATL, commented on the announcement:

There is no doubt that our plant in Debrecen will enable us to further sharpen our competitive edge, better respond to our European customers, and accelerate the transition to e-mobility in Europe. The greenfield project in Hungary will be a giant leap in CATL’s global expansion, and also an important step in our efforts to make an outstanding contribution to the green energy drive for humankind.

CATL confirmed that the new plant is going to supply European automakers including Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Stellantis and Volkswagen:

Debrecen is located at the heart of Europe, and with close proximity to some auto plants of its customers such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Stellantis and Volkswagen, CATL’s Debrecen plant will enable it to better cope with the battery demands of the European market, improve its global production network development, and help accelerate e-mobility and energy transition in Europe.

Construction is expected to start later this year.

Volvo Group announces large-scale battery factory in Sweden to support electric truck production

The Volvo Group announces that it has started working on having a large-scale battery factory in Sweden to support its expansion of electric trucks, electric buses, and electric construction equipment production.


The Volvo Group is not to be confused with Volvo Cars, which has been owned by China’s Geely for over a decade now.

The group is independent, and it produces trucks, buses, and construction equipment.

Over the last few years, it has emerged as a leader in the electrification of those segments with products like the VNR Electric truck, the Volvo FL Electric, the Volvo 7900 Electric Articulated bus, and even electric construction equipment like its ECR25 Electric compact excavator.

Now the company aims to deliver these products in large volumes, but it is going to need a lot of batteries to do that since those are all heavy-duty vehicles and machinery.

Today, The Volvo Group announced a new battery factory coming to Sweden:

To meet the growing demand for battery electric heavy-duty vehicles and machines, the Volvo Group has initiated the process to establish a large-scale production plant for battery cells in Sweden.

The site of the factory is dependent on permitting and public consultation, but Volvo group is currently evaluating a site in Mariestad in the Skaraborg region in Sweden.

Mercedes-Benz Group AG will join China’s Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Ltd. in building a battery factory in Hungary with an investment of as much as 7.3 billion euros ($7.6 billion), with some of Europe’s leading automakers set to become customers too.


The plant will have capacity of 100 gigawatt hours, enough to power more than 1 million cars, and will run on renewable energy, the world’s biggest electric-vehicle battery maker, known as CATL, said Friday. Planned to be built in Debrecen, the facility will be in close proximity to customers BMW AG, Stellantis NV and Volkswagen AG, CATL said.

“There is no doubt that our plant in Debrecen will enable us to further sharpen our competitive edge, better respond to our European customers, and accelerate the transition to e-mobility in Europe,” said Robin Zeng, founder and chairman of CATL.

The Debrecen plant, which will be Hungary’s biggest investment ever, will create around 9,000 jobs, Hungary’s Deputy Foreign Minister Levente Magyar told the MTI state news service. While CATL didn’t say when production would start, Mercedes said the batteries would go into its next generation of EVs, due to go on sale from around mid-decade.

Automakers including VW and Stellantis have embarked on ambitious plans to make batteries, mostly with partners, to ensure enough supply of the core EV components. VW is building six facilities in Europe alone, while Mercedes has joined Stellantis and TotalEnergies SE in a 7 billion-euro battery venture and is pursuing a total of eight facilities globally. The European Union is also pushing for a regional battery supply chain that lessens dependence on dominant Asian players, led by Sweden’s Northvolt AB.

“This new state-of-the art European CATL plant in Hungary is another milestone for the scale-up of our EV production together with our key partners,” said Markus Schaefer, chief technology officer at Mercedes.

Mercedes first forged a partnership with CATL in 2020, while BMW is a foundation customer for the Chinese company’s factory in Erfurt, Germany, that is due to start production at the end of this year.

CATL’s Hungary investment follows a flurry of other announcements from the company on new battery sites, including a 14 billion yuan ($2 billion) investment in east China’s Shandong province and a 13 billion yuan battery project in Fujian province, where CATL is based.

CATL has also been considering an investment of up to $5 billion in either Mexico or the US, though that announcement has been delayed after US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi traveled to Taiwan, people familiar with the matter have said.

CATL shares fell 1.6% on Friday. They’re down 15% this year.

Panasonic in talks for $4 billion battery plant in US

Panasonic Holdings Corp., which supplies electric car batteries to Tesla Inc., is in talks to build another battery plant in the US worth around $4 billion, the Wall Street Journal reported Friday, citing people familiar with the matter that it didn’t identify.


Oklahoma is a likely location for the new plant, although there are no guarantees an agreement will be reached, according to the report. Any new facility would be on top of another $4 billion EV battery factory that Panasonic said in July it plans to build in Kansas.


A spokeswoman for Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt declined to comment to the WSJ.

A representative for Panasonic said the company is “examining various growth strategies for our automotive battery business, but there is no further information that we can share at the moment aside from what we have already announced.”

The Japanese manufacturer is seeking to ramp up production capacity to meet growing demand from Tesla and other electric vehicle makers as consumers start to embrace cleaner cars in a meaningful way. EV cell production is a business the 104-year-old electronics giant sees as critical for its future growth.

Though Panasonic has supplied Tesla from its early days, it’s been slower to build scale versus rivals LG Energy Solution Co. of South Korea and China’s Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Ltd., which is the world’s largest maker of EV batteries.

Korean battery makers also have a slew of plans for battery plants in the US, constructing four for General Motors Co., two for Stellantis NV and three for Ford Motor Co.

Honda et LG s'allient pour produire des batteries électriques aux Etats-Unis

Le constructeur automobile japonais Honda et le sud-coréen LG Energy Solution ont annoncé lundi qu'ils allaient investir ensemble 4,4 milliards de dollars pour construire une usine de batteries électriques aux Etats-Unis, qui fournira exclusivement les usines Honda dans le pays.

Le chantier doit démarrer début 2023, afin de permettre le lancement d'une production de masse de batteries lithium-ion d'ici à fin 2025, selon un communiqué commun des deux groupes, qui vont fonder une coentreprise dédiée.

La localisation précise de cette future usine n'a pas encore été finalisée, mais il pourrait s'agir selon l'agence Bloomberg de l'Ohio. Cet Etat du Midwest accueille déjà plusieurs usines automobiles de Honda, qui produisent aussi les voitures de sa marque haut de gamme Acura.

Le site aura une capacité de production annuelle d'environ 40 gigawattheures (GWh), selon le communiqué.

Numéro deux japonais de l'automobile, Honda s'est fixé en 2021 l'objectif de devenir 100% électrique d'ici à 2040 dans le monde entier.

Pour ce faire, le groupe avait annoncé en avril qu'il comptait investir 5.000 milliards de yens (37 milliards d'euros) dans les dix prochaines années dans l'électrification. Il a prévu de lancer 30 modèles électriques d'ici à 2030 dans toutes ses gammes.

En Amérique du Nord, l'un de ses marchés clé, Honda est déjà allié au géant américain General Motors dans les véhicules électriques et les batteries, mais ce partenariat n'est pas exclusif.

Figurant parmi les leaders mondiaux des batteries électriques, LG Energy est d'ailleurs déjà un étroit associé de General Motors, avec lequel il a quatre mégaprojets d'usines de batteries aux Etats-Unis. Le sud-coréen est aussi un partenaire des constructeurs Stellantis (maison mère des marques Chrysler, Citroën, Fiat, Opel et Peugeot notamment) et Hyundai notamment.

Surfant sur le succès de Tesla, le marché nord-américain des véhicules électriques est en rapide expansion et de plus en plus encouragé par les autorités locales.

L'Etat de Californie a adopté la semaine dernière un texte interdisant les ventes de voitures neuves diesel et essence à partir de 2035, une première aux Etats-Unis, et d'autres Etats du pays devraient suivre.

Le japonais Panasonic a dit mi-juillet prévoir de construire une nouvelle usine de batteries électriques dans le Kansas (centre des Etats-Unis) pour 4 milliards de dollars, sa deuxième dans le pays après la première "gigafactory" qu'il exploite dans le Nevada (ouest) avec Tesla depuis 2017.

Panasonic envisage par ailleurs d'établir une autre usine de batteries dans l'Oklahoma pour 4 milliards de dollars également, a affirmé le Wall Street Journal en fin de semaine dernière. Sollicitée par l'AFP, la firme japonaise n'a pas confirmé ces informations pour le moment.

Toyota annonce de gros investissements dans les batteries au Japon et aux Etats-Unis
(AFP) - Le numéro un mondial de l'automobile Toyota a annoncé mercredi qu'il allait investir 730 milliards de yens (5,3 milliards d'euros au cours actuel) pour lancer sa propre production de batteries électriques au Japon et aux Etats-Unis entre 2024 et 2026.

Toyota a longtemps été sceptique sur le potentiel de marché des véhicules électriques, mais a commencé à s'y mettre sérieusement depuis l'an dernier pour ne pas se laisser distancer sur ce segment en très forte croissance et de plus en plus encouragé par les autorités en Europe, en Chine et aux Etats-Unis.

Le groupe compte lancer 30 modèles 100% électriques d'ici 2030 et prévoit au total un investissement d'une trentaine de milliards d'euros sur la période 2022-2030 dans la recherche-développement et la production de véhicules et de batteries électriques, a-t-il annoncé l'an dernier.

Mais Toyota continue de ne pas mettre tous ses oeufs dans le même panier, en poursuivant aussi des investissements colossaux dans les véhicules hybrides, dont il est le champion mondial, et dans d'autres technologies comme l'hydrogène.

"Il existe plus qu'une seule option pour atteindre la neutralité carbone" et "les moyens pour réduire les émissions de CO2 autant que possible et aussi vite que possible (...) varient énormément selon les pays et les régions", a d'ailleurs de nouveau souligné Toyota dans son dernier communiqué.

Battery startup Freyr signs $3 billion supply deal with Nidec

Freyr Battery SA and Nidec Corp., the world’s largest manufacturer of high-efficiency electric motors, signed a binding deal for lithium-ion batteries from Freyr’s arctic giga-factory.



The volume totals 38 gigawatt-hours and equates to projected revenues of more than $3 billion for Freyr, the Norwegian company said in a statement on Tuesday. The companies are converting and expanding a previously announced 31 gigawatt-hour conditional off-take agreement to a binding sales agreement running from 2025 to 2030.

Freyr, which started trading last year on the New York Stock Exchange, is building its first lithium-ion battery factory in the far north of Norway and has announced plans for production in Finland and the US. It entered a joint venture agreement with Koch Strategic Platforms in 2021 and another with Aleees earlier this year as it seeks to establish itself in the battery supply chain.

Freyr and Nidec also agreed to cooperate in using Freyr’s next-generation battery cells with modules and packs into integrated downstream energy storage system solutions for industrial and utility grade customers, they said.

“What this joint venture is about is a tailor-made ESS solution leveraging larger and thicker cells that are more tailor-made for energy storage applications,” Freyr Chief Executive Officer Tom Einar Jensen said in an interview. “We will partner along the value chain with leading companies to ensure that we can be the industrialization partner of choice.”

The multi-year sales deal covers an increasing volume over time with a pricing structure linked to the underlying price of the raw material, in particular, lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide, Jensen said. Along with its role in the JV, pass-through mechanisms will ensure raw material price risk is passed on and will ensure the battery maker can stay profitable both at the cell production level and at the module and pack level, he said.

The agreement provides Nidec with predictable supply as it continues to grow its energy storage solution business, Laurent Demortier, the head of Nidec’s energy and infrastructure division, said in the interview. Freyr’s cell is adapted to the ESS market, with a manufacturing capacity in line with the Kyoto, Japan-based company’s needs and compatible with the US and European markets it supplies, he said.

Nidec had been buying batteries in the spot market that are largely designed for the automotive industry, which are more costly due to the smaller size of the units, Demortier said in a presentation on Tuesday.

“A battery for utility scale is a hundred times bigger than the one from the automotive,” he said. “We need to design products that will fit this industry — this growing industry.”

The deal includes an option to increase volumes to 50 GWh in the period and potentially add volumes beyond 2030, Freyr said.

The factory is expected to be one of the continent’s biggest, and the UK is currently in the running alongside France, Germany, the Netherlands and Poland for the hub.
The Gigafactory is expected to cost up to $8 billion.

The UK is in the running for an $8bn (£6.9bn) lithium battery gigafactory, squaring up to European peers in the race to cultivate healthy electric vehicle industries locally.

The global energy transition has prompted countries, such as the UK, the US and Germany, to double down on their support for domestic electric vehicle markets.

The UK set up its Automotive Transformation Fund last year, through which it invested £1bn into industrial electric vehicle supply chain projects on home soil.

ProLogium, a Taiwanese lithium battery manufacturer, is now scouting for the location of its first major factory in Europe, which will see $8bn (£6.9bn) worth of investment poured into it over the next decade.

The factory is expected to be one of the continent’s biggest, and the UK is currently in the running alongside France, Germany, the Netherlands and Poland for the hub, as well as the “thousands” of jobs it is expected to create.

The site has an annual capacity target of 120 GWh when completed.

Lithium batteries are critical components in electric vehicles and have been described by Elon Musk as the “new oil”.

ProLogium, based in Taipei, secured $326m (£282m) to expand its global electric vehicle battery production capacity last year, following a financing round.

“For most Asian companies actively going abroad, one of the keys to success is a solid foundation rooted in strategic planning,” Vincent Yang, CEO and chairman of the group, said.

“Site selection requires not only the right technology and solutions for that market, but also in-depth knowledge of local market demands and trends.”

Some of the key things ProLogium is looking for is a pool of skilled labour, an existing supply chain, energy security and government incentives.

Similar to the computer chip industry, which is also fundamental to the electric vehicle transition, government incentives have been crucial to flourishing onshore industry.

Gilles Normand, international development European vice president, added: “During my front-line visit to all potential sites, I discovered very talented people and highly motivated ones.

“I was pleased to see the enthusiasm and the understanding about our technology and future industrialization plans. For sure, choosing finally the selected site is going to be a hard process.

BYD Co. jumped to second place in global electric-car battery rankings in July, overtaking LG Energy Solution Ltd. as China’s demand for clean cars surges.


The Chinese car and battery maker supplied 6.4 gigawatt-hours of batteries in July, behind only giant Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. with 13.3 GWh. LG Energy slipped to third with 4.4 GWh, followed by Japan’s Panasonic Holdings Corp. at 2.9 GWh, according to data released by Seoul-based SNE Research on Monday. Global battery sales rose to 39.7 gigawatt-hours in July, up 80% from a year earlier, the report showed.

The year-to-date market share rankings were unchanged, with CATL top with 34.7% of the market, followed by LG Energy at 14.2% and BYD third with 12.6%.

Demand for EVs continues to soar as high gasoline prices spur drivers to switch to hybrids and battery-powered cars, and automakers electrify their fleets. Still, EV makers face challenges, with the UK and Germany slashing subsidies, the US pushing to reduce reliance on Chinese minerals and components and surging materials prices pushing up the cost of batteries.

Another Chinese company, China Aviation Lithium Battery Co., or CALB, ranked sixth by sales in July, overtaking South Korea’s Samsung SDI Co.

Chinese firms led overall growth in the EV battery industry in July, while the total market share of South Korea’s three battery makers — LG, Samsung and SK — declined to 25.9% from 34.2% a year ago, SNE said.

Chinese battery makers appear to be sustaining their pricing power amid tight supply, while China’s battery usage is expected to almost double this year on surging sales of new-energy vehicles, according to Bloomberg Intelligence. South Korean battery makers, meanwhile, need a new strategy to counter subsidies for EVs like new US rules that favor American-made electric vehicles and batteries, and rising “skepticism” over EVs in Europe, SNE said.

South Korean battery maker LG Energy Solution said on Friday it has signed agreements on lithium and cobalt sourcing with three Canadian mining firms in a bid to expand its footprint in North America.


The Tesla supplier said in a statement the agreements were part of an effort to expand mid- to long-term supply contracts with companies that mine and process key battery materials in North America.

The US Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), signed into law by US President Joe Biden in August, requires a percentage of critical minerals used in electric vehicle (EV) batteries come from the United States or an American free-trade partner.

LG said the three Canadian mining firms, Electra, Avalon and Snowlake, will supply LG with 7,000 tonnes of cobalt sulfate for three years from 2023, 55,000 tonnes of lithium hydroxide for five years from 2025, and 200,000 tonnes of lithium hydroxide for 10 years, respectively.

The gigafactory will supply battery materials to Umicore’s car and battery cell customers in Europe, and marks an important step in achieving the European Union’s ambition of having its own battery ecosystem that is both sustainable and competitive on a global scale.

Umicore’s carbon-neutral facility here in Nysa is a true enabler and accelerator of the e-mobility transformation across the European Union,” said Mathias Miedreich, CEO of Umicore. “With this gigafactory, Umicore is leading the way in battery materials in Europe, offering key ingredients for a responsible and sustainable value chain for electric transport. Its state-of-the-art product and process technologies complement our metals refining and cathode precursor production facility in Finland, as well as our world-class R & D and pioneering battery recycling activities in Belgium. Nysa’s annual production capacity is set to reach 20 GWh by the end of 2023 and 40 GWh in 2024, with the potential to rise to over 200 GWh, or 3 million electric vehicles, in the second half of the decade. This growth trajectory is part of Umicore’s ambition to reach worldwide capacity of more than 400 GWh by 2030, and overall strategy to establish fully integrated regional battery material value chains on three continents. To this end, Umicore plans to construct a precursor and cathode active materials facility in Canada and expand its existing capacity in Asia.

The plant is fully powered by renewable electricity from a nearby onshore wind farm, enabling Umicore’s carbon-neutral growth ambitions. Construction of the plant began in 2019 and production started in July this year. Currently, Umicore in Nysa employs about 240 people. Their number is expected to increase to 400 by the end of 2023, along with the plant’s future capacity expansion.

CATL plans $1.9 billion battery project in China’s Luoyang city

Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Ltd., the world’s biggest battery maker for electric cars with almost 35% of the market, plans to build a 14 billion yuan ($1.9 billion) manufacturing base in the city of Luoyang in the central Chinese province of Henan.


Construction of the project will take up to three years, CATL said in a statement to the Shenzhen stock exchange Wednesday. CATL said in a separate filing that it will sell as much as 10 billion yuan of notes on China’s interbank market to fund the building and operation of its various projects.

CATL is expanding at pace as consumer demand for electric cars skyrockets. The company’s president said last week that CATL is considering a third factory in Europe after the Ningde, Fujian-based group last month announced plans to build a second European EV battery plant in Hungary.

That 7.3 billion euro ($7.2 billion) base, in partnership with Mercedes-Benz Group AG, has a planned output of 100 gigawatt hours and will also supply Volkswagen AG and Stellantis NV. CATL expects it to be ready within five years.

CATL didn’t disclose the envisaged output for its new Luoyang facility.

After a rocky start to 2022 that saw CATL post its sharpest-ever drop in quarterly earnings, the battery behemoth has rebounded, with first-half net income rising 82% from a year earlier and revenue jumping 156%.

CATL already has several production bases in China and subsidiaries in the US, Japan and Europe. It’s spending another 27 billion yuan on two battery projects in China’s Shandong and Fujian provinces and is looking at sites in Mexico and the US.
