Début des travaux du plus garnd parc éolien d' Australie.
453 MW pour 850 millions de $

Work Starts on Australia’s Biggest Wind Farm

February 11, 2018 evwind

Construction started this week on the 453-megawatt wind farm project, which is due to be completed in 2019. The wind turbine project will produce 1.5 million megawatt-hours of renewable energy annually – enough to provide power for 260,000 homes.

The Queensland Labor government is committed to a 50 per cent renewable energy target by 2030.

AGL Energy is building the $850 million Coopers Gap wind farm, 10 years after it was first proposed. The company secured environment approval last year.

Two hundred jobs will be created during construction of the facility .

L' Australie va voir la construction de son plus grand parc éolien, 272 turbines générant prés de 1000 MW !
Australia’s biggest wind farm has been approved in NSW

April 4, 2018 evwind

The NSW government has signed off on Australia’s biggest wind farm, which will be built in the Upper Hunter region.

The $643 million Liverpool Range wind farm, between the Cassilis and Coolah, 350km northwest of Sydney, will have 272 turbines generating nearly 1000MW (megawatts) of power, enough to supply nearly 500,000 homes.

The total number of turbines is 16 less than originally planned.

Planning Minister Anthony Roberts signed off on the project last week as a State Significant Development, saying it would generate around 800 jobs over the three-year construction phase, as well as delivering up to $800,000 annually ($3000 per turbine) in community funding through a voluntary planning agreement with the local councils.

The project is 20km across and 36km from north to south, on 25 different properties near the Coolah Tops National Park.
