Total 288 MW. Installés sur 27 km2.
Fait suite à Baltic-1 qui faisait 48 MW ouvert en 2010

Offshore wind farm EnBW Baltic 2 officially put into operation

Karlsruhe/Stralsund - 2015-09-21

In the presence of the Minister President of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Erwin Sellering, and numerous guests from the worlds of business and politics, EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG has officially put its second offshore wind farm in the Baltic Sea into operation.

..............
EnBW Baltic 2 is located 32 kilometres to the north of the island of Rügen. 80 wind turbines with a total output of 288 megawatts have been installed over an area of 27 square kilometres. The offshore wind farm will generate 1.2 billion kilowatt hours of electricity per year and cover the aggregate requirements of 340,000 households while saving 900,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2).

The 80 Siemens SWT-3.6-120 wind turbines rise 138 metres above the surface of the water. Depending on the depth of the water, they have been erected on different foundations: Monopiles have been used for water depths of up to 35 metres, while three-legged jackets have been utilised at depths of over 35 metres. The substation forms the heart of EnBW Baltic 2. The electricity from the individual wind turbines flows into the substation where it is transformed to a higher voltage and transported to the mainland to be fed into the integrated German electricity network. The yellow substation is 15 metres high, 25 metres long and weighs a total of 4,500 tonnes including the foundations. More than 83 kilometres of undersea cables connect the individual wind turbines to the substation.

Borkum Riffgrund 1 offshore wind power plant officially inaugurated

October 12, 2015 evwind

Today marked the official inauguration of the Borkum Riffgrund 1 offshore wind power plant: 78 Siemens wind turbines, each with a capacity of 3.6 megawatts and a rotor diameter of 120 meters, will supply around 320,000 German households with ecofriendly electricity. Siemens is also providing service and maintenance for the turbines for an initial period of 10 years. Borkum Riffgrund 1 has been developed and constructed by DONG Energy and is today owned by DONG Energy (50 percent) and the investors Kirkbi Invest A/S and William Demant Invest A/S (50 percent together). Borkum Riffgrund 1 is the sixth offshore wind project to be handed over to the respective customer by Siemens in this last fiscal year. The total capacity of all of these wind projects is sufficient to supply nearly two million households with clean electricity.

Germany hits 3.3 GW offshore wind energy

January 18, 2016 evwind

Germany reached 3.3GW of offshore wind power capacity last year. The data, released by Deutsche WindGuard in its Status of Offshore Wind energy Development in Germany report, showed that by 31 December there were 792 turbines in the German North and Baltic seas feeding electricity to the grid.

A total of 546 new offshore wind turbines totalling 2282.4MW were connected in 2015.

Some 290 turbines totalling at 1169.2 MW were erected last year, with the remainder installed in 2013 and 2014 but only connected in 2015.

A further 41 units with a combined capacity of 246MW were also installed last year, but are not yet fully grid-linked. The report added that 122 foundations were installed in 2015 which are expected to have turbines installed this year.

Offshore wind turbines produced more than 8TWh or 1.4% of Germany’s gross electricity generation last year, according to figures by working group AG Energiebilanzen.

Offshore wind industry groups AGOW, BWE, Offshore Wind Foundation, VDMA and WAB expect this year some 700MW to be connected to the grid.

New wind power plant in Cuxhaven, Germany

Image

A rendering shows how the wind turbine factory is intended to appear in the eastern harbor area of Cuxhaven, Germany.
Siemens is investing around €200 million to a wind turbine manufacturing facility in Cuxhaven, Germany. After announcing this project an official signing ceremony took place at the planned site of the factory in Summer 2015. The new production will be located directly at the edge of the harbor and will have a surface area of 170,000 square meters – the size of roughly 24 soccer fields. In early March 2016 the impact pile driving of approximately 1,900 concrete piles – up to 30 meters long – started at the construction site. Construction of the actual building was officially started by Siemens with a groundbreaking ceremony in the middle of June 2016. By mid-2017 the production of nacelles for the next-generation wind turbines D7 is to begin. This includes the final assembly of generators, hubs, and nacelle back-ends which are all connected to form complete nacelles. The location at the port allows heavy components to be loaded directly onto transportation vessels, thereby avoiding expensive ground transportation.

"The decision to build a new production facility in Cuxhaven represents a clear commitment to Germany as a business location," said Joe Kaeser, President and CEO of Siemens AG. "The new Siemens factory will employ up to 1,000 skilled employees. The expansion of offshore wind power capacity in Germany and Europe represents an enormous opportunity for northern Germany and Siemens."
http://www.siemens.com/press/en/feature ... xhaven.php

Production of the seven megawatt direct drive offshore wind turbines will start in summer 2017, coinciding with the start of manufacturing of the 75-meter rotor blades at the new plant in Hull, UK. The two offshore manufacturing plants as well as the installation harbor ports will be connected by two specialized transport vessels and will deploy the innovative Siemens roll-on and roll-off logistics concept for loading. By using this approach, Siemens will avoid expensive crane operations for heavy components and increase workplace safety.

Construction begins at Siemens wind turbine plant in Cuxhaven
June 13, 2016 reve
Siemens new offshore plant in Cuxhaven is quickly progressing. Only one year after the initial investment decision, construction at the building site is already beginning. Soil compaction and the preparation of the pile foundation, with 1,900 concrete piles, have already been completed. Construction of the actual building was officially started by Siemens with a groundbreaking ceremony attended by Parliamentary State Secretary Enak Ferlemann, who emphasized the importance of the project for Germany’s coastal economy and future energy infrastructure. “A new industry is developing at the German north and east coast which is not only beneficial for the labour market, but also for the energy transition. Cuxhaven is clearly on a solid course for the future.”

Fewer wind turbines, greater output: Nordex to repower the Altenbruch wind farm

June 27, 2016 evwind

Nordex will be replacing 16 legacy N60/1300 wind turbines with nine modern N117/3000 ones for PNE Wind AG by the end of 2016. Located near Cuxhaven in Germany, the Altenbruch I wind farm will be undergoing what in Germany is seen as a business model offering considerable potential for the future: repowering.

In 2015, repowering accounted for 18 percent of all new installations in Germany. The Altenbruch project is a good example showing the purpose of repowering. Although the number of turbines installed at the wind farm 18 years ago will drop by almost half, yield is expected to more than double. “In Germany it is important to increase the output of existing wind farms and to simultaneously reduce the number of wind turbines. Looking forward, this will become even easier to do as we will be continuing to increase the installed capacity of our Delta series, thus making the system even more efficient,” says Jörg Hempel, who is in charge of Nordex’s business in Germany.

Further advantages of modernising wind farms include increasing full-load hours, improving grid compatibility and significantly lowering rotor speeds and noise emissions. With a hub height of 91 metres and a total height of 149.9 metres, the new wind turbines will be going on line this year.

E.ON and Statoil gave the green light in May 2016 to the construction of the 385 MW “Arkona Becken Südost” wind farm, 35 km northeast of the island of Rügen. The use of seismic surface surveys made it possible to stick to schedule on this € 1.2 billion project despite changes to the wind farm design – 60 turbines instead of 80 because of the switch to the larger 6 MW class – without the need for further post-surveys.
